Facilities & Safety Goal: Implementation of Critical Facility Upgrades (March 2026)

Goal 1:
By March 2026, the Board of Education will collaborate with the Superintendent and construction professionals to successfully implement and oversee critical facility upgrades that enhance safety, security, and the overall learning environment across the district. This work will prioritize identified infrastructure needs to ensure the most efficient use of funding and effective sequencing of projects, aligned to the district’s Strategic Plan and Long-Range Facilities Plan (LRFP).

Facilities Planning Goal: Preparing for Future Growth and Referendum Readiness

Goal 2:
By June 2027, the Board of Education will collaborate with the Superintendent, construction professionals, and community stakeholders to prepare for a potential districtwide referendum aimed at addressing anticipated enrollment growth, particularly related to housing expansion on the north side of the community. This process will include long-range facilities planning, prioritization of infrastructure needs, and proactive community engagement to ensure the district is positioned to effectively support increased student enrollment while maintaining safe, high-quality learning environments.

Policy Goal: Ensuring Up-to-Date and Compliant Board Policies

Goal 3:
Throughout the 2026–2027 school year, the Medford Board of Education will continue the work initiated during the 2025–2026 school year by implementing a structured, committee-based review process to ensure all board policies and regulations are current, compliant, and reflective of district priorities. Policies and regulations will be distributed across appropriate Board committees (e.g., Curriculum, Finance, Policy) for thorough review.
