Mr. Khanlian has been teaching since the 1900's. He taught in Marlton, then at Taunton Forge School in Medford. He has taught at Kirby’s Mill School since the building opened in 2004.
Mr. Khanlian holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Elizabethtown College and a Master’s Degree in Teaching from Marygrove College. He has served on the district’s Elementary Literacy Committee, as well as the New Jersey state committee that helped to develop the NJASK language arts literacy test for grades 3-5. His main goal as a classroom teacher is to foster an environment in which students feel confident, where everyone is comfortable taking risks and challenging themselves.
Besides teaching, Mr. Khanlian has previously been employed as a soccer trainer with the Moorestown Soccer Club, a disc jockey, a tutor (in writing, reading, math and Spanish), and he has also worked as a clerk in both a hardware store and a record store. He and his wife Jen own and operate the Abandoned Luncheonette in Moorestown, NJ. They have two sons, Stanley and Bruce. Mr. Khanlian is an ordained minister in the Universal Life Church.
