Curriculum

Welcome to the Office of Programming and Planning. The department is responsible for a host of tasks with the goal of assuring that Medford Township’s students receive instruction that recognizes varying abilities, promotes critical thinking skills, engages students in the learning process, and addresses the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS). The department researches programs and professional development offerings to train teachers and staff while analyzing instructional materials for their appropriateness and alignment to the NJSLS.

The department staff oversees the district assessment program, assists with teacher evaluation and writes grants and reports required by the state to show progress and to obtain federal funding. The development of the budget and allocation of funds in the areas of staff development and curriculum are created by the curriculum department with the guidance and input of the building principals, teachers, the superintendent of schools, and the Board of Education.

In addition, representatives attend meetings with the Lenape Regional Curriculum Council and the Burlington County Curriculum Consortium to stay abreast of changes in the state and network with other districts. Affirmative Action questions or concerns are another task of the department staff.

We invite you to visit the areas of assessment, professional development and curriculum to learn more about our department and the district. Additional information about specific programs is available at the individual schools’ websites. Please feel free to contact any member of our team to assist you with any questions you may have.
