The Road Forward - Draft

The New Jersey Department of Education is requiring all school districts to submit a reopening plan using a state provided template entitled, "The Road Forward."  The Medford Township Public Schools have spent the summer reflecting on the 2020-21 school year and strengthening procedures for the coming year to successfully maintain a safe learning environment for in-person instruction.

In an effort to gather input from the collective perspectives of our school community, we have developed the following process for finalizing and submitting the plan:

Early July

A district draft of the "The Road Forward" document was developed using the state provided template.

Late July

The draft plan was shared with Medford Schools Board of Education members and district administrators for comments and feedback.

Early August

“The Road Forward” draft plan was posted on our district website, along with a survey to allow for feedback from our community.

Mid-August

Reconvening of the district reopening committee for in-person dialogue and conversations regarding "The Road Forward" to get constituent feedback beyond what a survey might provide.

Late August

Submission of the final plan to the County Department of Education reflective of committee feedback and recommendations from multiple stakeholder groups.

Please review this draft of “The Road Forward.

Please note: All components and protocols included in this plan are pending review and submission. The contents of this plan are subject to revision based on mandates from the NJDOH, NJDOE and/or a state executive order. The Medford Township Public Schools will continue to communicate regularly with the Board of Education and the school community by posting amendments and updates on the district website if needed.
