Hands Across America Club (Tuesdays)
HANDS ACROSS AMERICA-Share your TIME, TALENTS, and LOVE. Make a DIFFERENCE and help those who are in need.
Our goal is to make life a little “nicer” for those who are homeless. We collect canned goods, make birthday and holiday cards for the men as well as holiday posters to decorate the shelter, wrap Christmas gifts for our friends, make Easter baskets etc. Once a month, we also visit the shelter in Philadelphia and celebrate birthdays, share stories and gifts while the men share their talents with us. Song writing, poetry, and photography are just a few of the ways the men at the shelter enjoy entertaining us. We give the men HOPE, and there’s always a wonderful exchange of LOVE.
If you’re committed to attending our weekly meetings every Tuesday, starting the first week in October, participating in these activities, and brightening up the lives of others, please join Hands Across America. We want YOU!
Hands Across America will be meeting every Tuesday starting next week, October 1, in room 49. For the first meeting, someone from Memorial will pick up the Haines students, so they know where to go. Our club ends each week at 3:10. Late bus passes are needed for students to ride the late bus. Car riders should be picked up on the side of the Memorial cafeteria.
I'm looking forward to working with your children, making a difference in the lives of others.
