Babysitting Club is getting ready for a trip!

    children

In March we are going to the Kindergarten class rooms at Chairville School so we can learn how to interact with 5-6 year old children.  Club members will be reading them a story and guiding them through an activity.  They will also have time to let the students read to them too. This will occur during regular club time and we will be back in time for normal after school pick up and late buses.  Any student planning on attending must have a completed permission form to participate.

Permission forms are due to the Nurse's Office by

    Monday 3/9/2020.

    Welcome to the Babysitting Club!

The club will start Tuesday September 24, 2019 after school, in Room 29, in the Haines Building.  The students will recognize that room as a Science/STEM Room.

Students who are taking the late bus home must have purchased a late bus pass. There is still time to do so if you have not already.  If you are picking your child up from club please do so in the front of the HAINES BUILDING OFF STOKES ROAD. No cars are allowed in the shared Memorial/Haines parking lot due to the loading of the late buses. If you have any questions please feel free to contact one of us.  Our contact information is below.

Below are our tentative meeting dates for the school year.  We will do our best to give you plenty of advance notice in the event a meeting must be cancelled.  Any cancellation will be announced on the Homeroom Headlines so please encourage your child to pay attention to the Headlines for changes.

    Babysitting Club (Tuesdays)
Students will learn information and skills necessary to provide safe and responsible care for children or various ages in the absence of parents or adult guardians. Training will help participants develop skills in leadership, professionalism, basic care, safety, first aid and CPR. This club offers practical techniques from pre-job interviews, "tricks of the trade", to creating resumes.

The club will meet on Tuesdays. We will email parents/guardians with the exact schedule of meetings in September once it is confirmed when late buses will begin and we have a schedule outlined. There may be a few meeting dates that will require the students to stay until 4:10pm which will require parent transportation. Permission slips for those meetings will go home in advance. Cancellations, schedule changes and notifications of trips, etc. will go home to parents/guardians via email as soon as possible. Students will also be responsible to watch homeroom headlines and announcements for any schedule changes as well.
